چکیده

Rozowsky, Volkas and Wali [1] recently found interesting numerical solutions to the field equations for a gauged U(1)⊗U(1) scalar field model. Their solutions describe a reflection-symmetric domain wall with scalar fields and coupled gauge configurations that interpolate between constant magnetic fields on one side of the wall and exponentially decaying ones on the other side. This corresponds physically to an infinite sheet of supercurrent confined to the domain wall with a linearly rising gauge potential on one side and Meissner suppression on the other. While it was shown that these static solutions satisfied the field equations, their stability was left unresolved. In this paper, we analyse the normal modes of perturbations of the static solutions to demonstrate their perturbative stability.

Localization of Non-Abelian Gauge Fields on Domain Walls at Weak Coupling (D-brane Prototypes)

Building on our previous results (Ref. [4]), we study D-brane/string prototypes in weakly coupled (3+1)-dimensional supersymmetric field theory engineered to support (2+1)-dimensional domain walls, " non-Abelian " strings and various junctions. Our main but not exclusive task is the study of localization of non-Abelian gauge fields on the walls. The model we work with is N = 2 QCD, with the gau...

Dynamics of Domain Wall Networks

Networks or webs of domain walls are admitted in Abelian or non-Abelian gauge theory coupled to fundamental Higgs fields with complex masses. We examine the dynamics of the domain wall loops by using the moduli approximation and find a phase rotation induces a repulsive force which can be understood as a Noether charge of Q-solitons. Non-Abelian gauge theory allows different types of loops whic...

Domain wall solutions with Abelian gauge fields

We study kink (domain wall) solutions in a model consisting of two complex scalar fields coupled to two independent Abelian gauge fields in a Lagrangian that has U(1)×U(1) gauge plus Z2 discrete symmetry. We find consistent solutions such that while the U(1) symmetries of the fields are preserved while in their respective vacua, they are broken on the domain wall. The gauge field solutions show...

Gauge Field Localization in Models with Large Extra Dimensions

Apart from supersymmetric theories, the most interesting possibilities for unified theories beyond the standard model are models with large extra dimensions, that is, the brane-world scenario. The domain walls are the simplest branes on which realistic models can be constructed. However, localization of gauge fields on domain walls has been notoriously difficult in field theories, although scal...
